Super Makko (4 oz)
New for 2022, Super Makko is a careful blend of ingredients to bind your incense (like a glue) but also to enhance the scent and the burning properties of your incense as well. When you open the bag, the first thing you will smell is a strong scent of Calamus, but don’t let that fool you! The blend smells very different when burning. It has a subtle, pleasant, scent of its own that will fade into the background when you add your own herbs, resins, and fragrant woods. Super Makko is both a binder (to hold your incense together) and a base (to help it burn), but I still recommend adding additional base materials that compliment your blend.

Super Makko is the result of more than a year’s testing and research that began when I acquired some red joss powder from Southeast Asia. This joss powder is so strong, I literally couldn’t use it in a standard way. It is both elastic and very, very strong. I knew that selling it in its raw form would be limited to only the most experienced incense makers and that simply isn’t right. So after testing and testing and testing, I’ve created a makko blend using the powerful red joss powder. This blend includes red joss powder, calamus root, Australian sandalwood, clove, and several more special ingredients that will enhance the scent of your aromatics, improve how your incense burns, and will bind any blend. A sample recipe is included on the package.
