Desert Sage
Desert sage (salvia eremostachya) smells very similar to culinary sage, although I find it to be a bit stronger, at least when fresh. It is a wonderful “bright” scent without being too green. It has a mint-like note as well as an astringent note. This is a new addition for us and so far I’ve been very impressed with it. You can use it in place of, or in addition to , culinary sage or white sage. If you ever want to make the “3 Sages” recipe from my first book, this desert sage is a great choice.
