Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021
Well, 2020 was a heck of a year, but I think most of us are glad to put it behind us. Although 2021 has gotten off to a rocky start, there are some great things ahead. I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who bought from us in 2020. It was an excellent year here at The Incense Dragon and we hope that 2021 is even better. After all, there’s not a better time to stay home and roll some amazing natural incense. Then you still get the joy and relaxation from burning it, so it’s a double win.
So what’s ahead in 2021? There are some big things in the works here. In the next month, look for major additions to both Dame Dragon’s Den and to the list of incense making supplies. I already have at least half a dozen new supplies that need to be added to the website, but it’s been so crazy there just hasn’t been time. Since Magic Makko has been so popular, I am working on another makko blend that is designed to burn hotter (for those stubborn aromatics). That should be available in late Spring. There are at least half a dozen new episodes of Incense Magick coming this year, including the long-anticipated episode about using cannabis in incense!
I am also toying with the idea of doing some virtual incense making workshops. I used to do many in-person workshops every year, but obviously COVID changed that. Having some experience with Zoom and Teams, I am considering putting together a package of supplies to send out to people who want to attend. I’ll post more about this as the plan begins to take shape.
On the down side, there is currently a shortage of tabu-no-ki in the USA, primarily due to COVID restrictions in Japan. I do have a supply in stock and an emergency shipment coming from a secondary supplier. I don’t anticipate running out, but it has pushed the price a little higher. I am hopeful that this summer I can return the price back to normal. Magic Mako uses a fair amount of tabu powder, but at this time I have plenty in stock and don’t anticipate any price increases on Magic Makko, Joss Powder, or Japanese Makko. It is only Tabu-No-Ki that is impacted at the moment. I’m also a little sad to announce that the Original Extruder has been discontinued. The last one was sold a few days ago and I will not restock them given that Extruder 2.0 is almost the same price and is a much better (and more popular) tool. I’ve been making Original Extruders since then 1990s, so it’s a little sad to see it go, but with 2.0 being so much better I don’t know that anyone else will miss it.
Thank you for dropping by. Be sure to check back soon to see all of the new products!
